Dr. Danny McCain

The International Institute for Christian Studies was born out of Dr. McCain’s vision to teach the Bible and develop Christian studies projects in public universities overseas in 1986.  Dr. McCain set up a Department of Christian Studies at Rivers State University of Science and Technology in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, in September 1988 to become the first IICS teaching fellow. In 1991, Dr. McCain and his family moved to the University of Jos in Northern Nigeria where he developed a similar program. Dr. McCain accomplishments in Nigeria include:  developing a four-week in-service training program for teachers of Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) in public schools, creating a series of Teachers’ Manuals for CRK teachers and establishing a faith-based AIDS awareness program for the public schools. Dr. McCain and his wife Mary have three grown children and a foster daughter.
