Director of Faculty Recruiting
Liam Atchison joined IICS July 1, 2011 as Director of Faculty Recruiting. Previously he served as Associate Professor of Biblical Studies (1984-1997) at Colorado Christian University. The last six years he was also the Director of the Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling program at the same institution. He served as Associate Professor of Historical Theology and Academic Dean of the Seattle campus of Western Conservative Baptist Seminary from 1997 to 2002. In 2002, he founded Emmanuel House, a spiritual formation ministry that included a household seminary program in Manhattan, Kansas and Lincoln, Nebraska, with his wife, Precious. From 2003 to 2008 he taught at Kansas State University, serving as the Ancient History instructor. He has been a church planter, an international educational consultant, served on the board of the faith mission Cadence International, and was the Founding Editor of Mars Hill Review, an experimental tri-annual journal of Christianity and culture. He holds a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a PhD in History (Reformation Hermeneutics) from Kansas State University. He has been married to Precious for thirty-three years, and has two adult children: Hope Black and Jesse Atchison, and one granddaughter, Jovie Hope. Email Liam at latchison@iics.com.
